First victim of H3N2 virus in Karnataka, confirmed by health department!
An 82-year-old man has become the first victim of the H3N2 virus, a health department official said today.
It has been reported that a 78-year-old man died in Alur of Hassan district due to this infection. The patient was admitted to the hospital on February 24 and he died on March 1, a health department official said. The doctor has informed him today that he is positive for H3N2 virus.
Information is available that the old man was admitted to the hospital due to sore throat and cough.
Also, the health department has informed that the health checkup of everyone in Alur has already been done and the throat fluid has been sent to the lab for testing. As a precautionary measure, the health department has decided to conduct an inspection.
It has fever for 3-5 days and persistent cough for three weeks. Medical experts are suggesting guidelines and precautions to deal with H3N2. Its symptoms include fever, sore throat, cough, body aches and chills.
The spread of infection can be controlled by measures such as cleanliness, crowd prevention, hand hygiene etc.
